Manager's Pick For Employee Of The Month

OMGosh...it is starting to feel like spring.....well, at least some days it does. The ducks at Gardner Village are greeting me early each morning as I open the store. The robins are building nests and digging for worms trying to fatten themselves up for feeding all the little babies to come. Oh how I love my job!!

As manager of Anastasia's Attic I have the pleasure of doing so many really fun and uplifting things each day. One of my favorites is interacting with my co-workers. We have the best group of women in the world working there. And each month I get to pick my choice for "Employee Of The Month". Picking is not the hard part...picking just one is!!

This month however my choice is....... Olivia!

If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting her, you know that everything I am about to say is true.
Her smile brightens up the room. She is as smart as she is beautiful and WOW, is she beautiful! She looks like a little china doll and I have nick named her "Little Bit". Customers love her and she loves them in return. She has a heart of gold and is always looking for ways to give service to others in need.
She can always make me laugh. And I am always so happy to see her walk through the door to start her shift. She gives 100% to her family, friends, work and community.

We are so happy to have her as a part of our Anastasia's Attic family.

Each month my pick gets a small token of appreciation that I feel fits them. And knowing that Olivia loves the dresses at Target, I decided to give her a $25.00 gift certificate. I know she will have fun spending it and finding a cute dress to go with one of her many, many.... did I say MANY pieces of jewlery she has from Anastasia's Attic...LOL

Be The Beauty

Anastasia’s Attic is thrilled to announce the launch of our charity commitment, Be the Beauty!

One of the core beliefs of Anastasia’s Attic is that “Beauty is the visual manifestation of love.” We also deeply believe that “the highest form of love is service.”

Through Be the Beauty, Anastasia’s Attic will partner with its customers, friends, and the community to create true and beautiful change by showing up in love and service to the world around us.

Each month, Anastasia’s Attic will organize and facilitate a specific service project, and will invite everyone to join with us in our commitment to “be the change we wish to see in the world.” Whether the need is at a local, state, national, or international level, we will do what we can here and now, and in so doing we will create a more beautiful world for everyone by giving the love of service.

We can make a difference.

We invite you to Be the Beauty—to stand with us as we put our beliefs into action and create a ripple of love and service…a ripple which will be felt from the center of our hearts, to the very ends of the earth.

This month, the Anastasia’s Attic Be the Beauty campaign consists of collecting hygiene kits for earthquake victims in Chile and Haiti. Each kit should contain one each of the following new items, enclosed in a gallon zip-lock bag:

1 Full-size bottle of shampoo

1 Toothbrush

1 Full-size toothpaste

1 Bar of antibacterial soap

1 Hand towel

1 Comb

From now until March 31, 2010, we will be collecting these much-needed hygiene kits at Anastasia’s Attic. At the end of the month we will deliver the hygiene kits to charities that will, in turn, put them into the hands of those who are so deserving of our love and assistance at this critical time.

And as a way to say “Thank You!” for choosing to make the world more beautiful through your commitment of love and service, when you drop off your donated hygiene kit(s), Anastasia’s Attic will give you a non-expiring coupon for 30% off any regular, in-stock item. Inquire at store for details.

February Employee Of The Month

We have started something new at Anastasia's Attic. Managers pick for Employee of the month. As Manager of Anastasia's Attic I work very closely with the ladies who work there. We are all very close and love to tease each other and have a little fun. We are all different ages and at different stages of our lives ( I'm the old one...LOL) But the one thing that we do share is our love for Anastasia's Attic. I know how lucky I am to have the best team working with me in the magical place we call our home away from home.

You can only imagine how hard it was to pick one and only one. But I just reminded myself that each month I will get to pick a different wonderful lady to be employee of the month. And let her know how much I love and appreciate her.

Sooooooo February picks is.....April!!

As a few of you may know earlier this month I was very sick and had to take a few days off from work. April stepped right in and took over. She made schedule changes, took care of phone calls, deliveries, and all kinds of assorted other things that I usually do. I didn't have to worry for one minute that things wouldn't be taken care of. She called to check up on me, asked what more she could do for me personally or the store. It was so nice to be able to rest and do as the doctors said.

April you are such a joy to be around. The customers love you and so do the rest of us. Thank you for all you do to make our team the winning one that it is!!!

Today she turns 50, and we think it's been some of the best 50 years the earth has even seen!
