Be the Beauty Project for June!

This month we lift loving hearts and our hands toward our four-footed fellow inhabitants of our planet! During June we will be collecting cans of dog and cat food for the Salt Lake County Animal Services. The SLCAS provides shelter for all types of lost and abandoned pets, and has a wonderful adoption and foster program. Although Salt Lake County Animal Services is a county-funded organization, many of their outreach, rescue, and adoption programs are made possible through the generous donations of citizens. In addition to caring for lost and abandoned animals and providing pet licensing, the Salt Lake City Animal Services has a rescue and foster programs that provides temporary homes to young kittens who are too young to be adopted. Foster parents are provided with all the necessary items for their foster-kittens--including food! May's Employee Of The Month is........Monica!

Many of you may not know Monica as she only works part time. But if you have ever met her you will never forget her. She looks like she should be on the front of a fashion magazine. And Monica is beautiful on the inside as well. She is funny, and smart and very kind.

I have heard from more than one customer how much they like her and how sweet she is. And I think our single male shoppers has doubled since she started working with us...LOL

She is a wonderful addition to our team and we are so glad to have her with us. And just in case you see a bit of family resemblance...she and Olivia are sisters.

Employee Of The Month

Hi, this is Cricket Manager of Anastasia's Attic. Hope all of you are started to see signs of spring. Here is Utah it's still snowing....yeah...I know...crazy!!! I am sitting at my desk watching it snow and listening to the birds chirp. I guess that means there is still hope Spring will eventually get to this part of the world!

April has been a busy month at Anastasia's Attic. Two of our wonderful ladies were on a fantastic vacation in Brasil and another is working her other job for a few months taking time off from us. Not only did and still do miss our ladies but it also left a whole lot of schedule to fill.

That brings me to........ "Employee Of The Month"

Liz Edmiston!

I am not sure where to start. Liz is not only beautiful, sweet, kind and loving. She is also
a wonderful mother, wife, daughter and friend. Her talents are so many I can't number them.
She has a very generous and giving heart. She is always thinking of ways to reach out and help another.
She is fun to be around and has a very calming way about her. She is always ready to jump in and lend
a hand where ever she is needed.

Liz was such a BIG help this month. She worked whatever hours we asked of her, never complaining.
She even surprised me one day and came by and told me to leave for 2 hours and she would work
for me while letting me stay on the clock. It was just what I needed and gave me a couple of hours to regroup and get some errands done. If she would have given me a sack of diamonds it would not have
been more valuble.

We are so glad Liz is a part of our Anastasia's Attic family, and from what I have been hearing so are our customers. Look at that smile. Who wouldn't want to be greeted by that.

Thank you sooooo much Liz for always bringing the best part of you to share with us.
We love you!!

Be the Beauty Project for April!

Last month Anastasia's Attic launched our charity program, Be the Beauty, with a drive to collect hygiene kits for earthquake victims in Haiti and Chile. Thank you so much to all you who brought in your donations! These hygiene kits will make a great difference in the lives of people who have lost so much.

This month, our Be the Beauty project will add joy and beauty to the lives of children halfway across the world! We are excited to partner with One Heart Bulgaria, a non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Bulgarian orphans.

Throughout the month of April, we will be collecting art supplies for the children in these orphanages. Examples of needed supplies are: crayons, children's scissors, washable markers, glue sticks and clear tape. (Please no paints.) You may bring your donations to Anastasia's Attic anytime during operating hours (Mon-Thur 10-6, Fri-Sat 10-8, Closed Sunday.)

Manager's Pick For Employee Of The Month

OMGosh...it is starting to feel like spring.....well, at least some days it does. The ducks at Gardner Village are greeting me early each morning as I open the store. The robins are building nests and digging for worms trying to fatten themselves up for feeding all the little babies to come. Oh how I love my job!!

As manager of Anastasia's Attic I have the pleasure of doing so many really fun and uplifting things each day. One of my favorites is interacting with my co-workers. We have the best group of women in the world working there. And each month I get to pick my choice for "Employee Of The Month". Picking is not the hard part...picking just one is!!

This month however my choice is....... Olivia!

If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting her, you know that everything I am about to say is true.
Her smile brightens up the room. She is as smart as she is beautiful and WOW, is she beautiful! She looks like a little china doll and I have nick named her "Little Bit". Customers love her and she loves them in return. She has a heart of gold and is always looking for ways to give service to others in need.
She can always make me laugh. And I am always so happy to see her walk through the door to start her shift. She gives 100% to her family, friends, work and community.

We are so happy to have her as a part of our Anastasia's Attic family.

Each month my pick gets a small token of appreciation that I feel fits them. And knowing that Olivia loves the dresses at Target, I decided to give her a $25.00 gift certificate. I know she will have fun spending it and finding a cute dress to go with one of her many, many.... did I say MANY pieces of jewlery she has from Anastasia's Attic...LOL

Anastasia’s Attic is thrilled to announce the launch of our charity commitment, Be the Beauty!

One of the core beliefs of Anastasia’s Attic is that “Beauty is the visual manifestation of love.” We also deeply believe that “the highest form of love is service.”

Through Be the Beauty, Anastasia’s Attic will partner with its customers, friends, and the community to create true and beautiful change by showing up in love and service to the world around us.

Each month, Anastasia’s Attic will organize and facilitate a specific service project, and will invite everyone to join with us in our commitment to “be the change we wish to see in the world.” Whether the need is at a local, state, national, or international level, we will do what we can here and now, and in so doing we will create a more beautiful world for everyone by giving the love of service.

1 Hand towel

From now until March 31, 2010, we will be collecting these much-needed hygiene kits at Anastasia’s Attic. At the end of the month we will deliver the hygiene kits to charities that will, in turn, put them into the hands of those who are so deserving of our love and assistance at this critical time.
